And We Love Seychelles!
Located high in the mountains of remote Seychelles, husband and wife team dynamic duo Stephannie and Tony Souffe combined their creative skills and enthusiastic joy for their islands and began creating hand printed textiles from the nature of their tropical surroundings. They launched ROOTS SEYCHELLES in 2013 and started selling their exclusive designs on the beach and taking orders from clients worldwide. Sparked by a shared deep passion for telling the story of Seychelles and a life long career of map making, it wasn't long before they expanded and developed SEYCHELLES MAPS, a fusion of their diverse talents. Specializing in custom illustrated maps of the Indian Ocean Region, they work closely with clients in a chill atmosphere to create watercolor maps to be cherished.
With their extensive experience in screen printing, they also print their map designs on
textiles, bags and beachwear. SEYCHELLES MAPS products can be found in fine shops and hotels around the islands as well as in their ROOTS shop in the mountain. Their
dedication and model of excellence awarded them Seychelles artisan of the year in 2017
and 2019.

The Story Tellers
Stephannie Souffe
Animal whisperer and obsessed with all things vegan
Stephannie started drawing as a toddler and won every art contest she entered. A graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York City, she founded the first site on the internet to offer custom hand drawn maps. With studios in New York and San Francisco, her innovative hand lettered stationery and calligraphed custom maps received international acclaim for their wildly popular signature whimsical style. After seeing a coco de mer for the first time, she became captivated by the remote islands of Seychelles and arrived on the tropical shores where she was embraced by the Creole community. Stephannie has created maps of locations all around the world and has been traveling and sketching maps of her journeys for almost 30 years.
Favorite thing about maps:
I love researching new places and telling a story through maps. Learning about the area, culture, vibes and creating a glimpse of the place in that moment in time.
Tony Souffe
Crocodile Dundee type guy
Tony is an island man who grew up on the beach and has a love for the sea. He studied at Seychelles Maritime Academy where he learned navigation and traveled to most of the 115 islands of Seychelles. Equipped with a log book, compass and binoculars, he was a dynamo at creating intricate navigational maps of the remote outer islands which he used as a guide when deep sea diving for shipwreck treasures. He is an all around creative genius who is an accomplished musician, song writer, linguist and visual artist. Using the local fruits and vegetables grown on his family's organic farm, Tony is also a world class chef and enjoys cooking Creole cuisine in the same tradition as his ancestors.

Favorite thing about maps:
Pinpointing my exact position and how it relates to the places around me. I also enjoy discovering new landmarks and locations that I might not be aware of.
